How to Write a Case Study Paper
In order to write a case study paper, you must carefully address a number of sections in a specific order with specific information contained in each. The guideline below outlines each of those sections.

Introduction (200 words) |
· Identify the selected case (condition or disease) including the significant of studying this case. · Illustrate the incidence/statistics of the disease/condition in Bahrain and the region/worldwide (include literature citations). · Write a brief introduction about what are you going to do in this assignment and discuss the benefit behind studying a case (include literature citations). |
Nursing Assessment (300 words) |
· Describe the patient’s profile (age, gender, nationality, religion, occupation, educational level, marital status, consciousness, orientation, status of mobility, level of dependency, etc). · State the patient’s reason for hospital visit / admission and history of present illness (PQRST), if applicable. · Identify the physical assessment findings as applicable, height / length, weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), waist circumference for adult & head circumference for neonate, vital signs and other nursing assessment specific to the case. · Identify the patient’s past medical history (illness, treatments, surgery, medications, allergies & other relevant data) and family history. · Identify and analyse the relationship between the patient’s health problem, risk factors, habits, life style and past medical history (include literature review). For neonate: assess the parents). · Identify special needs of the patient/family (physical, psychosocial, financial, religious, etc.) · Discuss the effects of the patient’s health problem on Activities of Daily Living (ADL), social life and family. |

Medical Management (300 words) |
· Identify all the medical orders which were carried for the patient including full order for medication. · Critically analyse the medical management that the patient received, by comparing it with recommendations from the literature; including other types of management that could have been done for this client but were not done (include literature citations). |
Nursing Management (300 words) |
· Identify all the nursing interventions which were carried for the patient. · Critically analyse the nursing management that the patient received, by comparing it with recommendations from the literature; including other types of management that could have been done for this client but were not done (include literature citations). |
Collaborative Management (200 words) |
· Identify all the collaborative interventions which were carried for the patient. · Critically analyse the collaborative management that the patient received, by comparing it with recommendations from the literature; including other types of management that could have been done for this client but were not done (include literature citations). |
Impact of the Condition on the Patient’s Quality of Life (QOL) (100 words) |
· Discuss how the condition/treatment/others affected the patient’s QOL (include literature citations). |
Conclusion and Recommendations (100 words) |
· Based on your findings from the case study summarize what you have learned from this assignment and Identify recommendations for improving the patients’ care and health care outcomes in the following domains: research, education, clinical and advocacy for patient. |
