Policies & Procedures:
1. All registered students and staff have a membership in the Library.
2. ID card is required for access to facilities and services.
3. Food is not allowed in any area of the Library. Bottled water and beverages in tightly sealed mugs are allowed. Drinks in open cups, foam or paper cups are prohibited within the library space.
4. Library is a quiet learning environment, and all users must be mindful of other learners.
5. Visitors cannot use the space unless they are given prior permission.
Copyright and Licensing Restrictions
Remember that you must not copy or print multiple copies of published materials (i.e., books, journals, websites, etc.) beyond what is permitted. Users must conform to the University’s contractual obligation and to the Bahraini Law on copyright.
Borrowing services are available to RCSI Bahrain students and staff.
Borrowing services are available to all RCSI Bahrain students and staff, offering access to both comprehensive online collections and extensive print resources. The library’s collection includes key textbooks, journals, and databases, in both print and digital formats, to support the academic and research needs of the RCSI community.
Borrowing Policy
Borrowing is permitted only with a valid ID card.
You are fully responsible for all items borrowed on your ID until they are returned to the Library and the loan record is canceled.
Reference-only materials must remain within the Library for consultation.
The majority of the collection is available for borrowing; however, high-demand items may be placed on short loan to ensure equitable access.

Loan Quotas and Lending Periods
Fines
Library fines can be easily avoided by returning or renewing items before their due date. The charge for overdue books is 0.100 fils per day per item.
Lost Books
If a book is lost, it should be reported to the Library team immediately. You are responsible for any book borrowed in your name until it is returned and the loan record is cleared. Replacement costs for lost books are based on the current value of the item.
