Group Study Rooms Policy

You are advised to book your room in advance so staff can confirm and manage your booking. You can book up to 2 hours in both the Zones of the libraryYou must bring your confirmation email and student ID before occupying the room in the library.  

Please note the below updates from the library on study room bookings:

  • Group study rooms are designed exclusively for groups of two or more users. 
  • The student reserving the room MUST be present at the time of use and will be held accountable for any policy violations and the condition of the room. 
  • Groups are to be considerate of other library users, and discussions should be kept at conversational levels appropriate for an academic environment. Students using study rooms must follow the library's quiet zone policy and not make excessive noise that disturbs others. If noise levels are too high, a verbal warning will be issued. On the second warning, the room booking will be cancelled & group will be asked to leave the room.
  • ID cards will be collected at the IS desk and will be returned at the end of the booking. 
  • Maximum occupancy limit must always be observed. Maximum capacity is six occupants in RZ and eight in GZ. At least two students are required to reserve a room. 
  • No food is permitted in the rooms. Beverages are allowed in compliance with the Library's Food and Drink Policy. 
  • No posting or writing on the walls. Each study room is equipped with a glass board. Do NOT USE outside markers on the boards. Markers and supplies are available for checkout at the IS Desk. If utilized, please erase the board. 
  • The lights must always remain on. 
  • Check the space you booked within the first 30 minutes. If you don't check in during this time, the booking will automatically be canceled to allow other students to reserve the space.
