Tips for searching the literature

It is recommended that you search key medical databases to find journal article references via our library portal and document supply service.

Cochrane – Systematic reviews

Consultations ---during closure

If you require assistance from a librarian we will make every effort to offer you an online video conference style consultation or telephone consultation during this time. For online consultations, please ensure that you have a working laptop or PC with access to the internet. Consultations will only be available by prior appointment Sunday – Thursday 8am- 4pm.  The librarians can also carry out literature searches on clinical topics for staff where we will save a search in the relevant library databases for you to login and view results.

If you require one of these consultations, please could you email with the following information;

  • The subject of your search
  • If you have met with a librarian previously or if this is a new request
  • Your availability

A librarian will do their best to get back to you as soon as possible with options on how best to deal with your request.
